A Remarkable Season: Thank You for Your Support!

9 Dec 2024 by Correy Washington

Good morning,

I hope this message finds everyone well! I want to express how incredibly proud I am of our players and coaching staff for the way they represented our community on Friday at the State game, and throughout the entire season. Throughout the day on Friday, I received numerous compliments from TAPPS and other coaches about the professionalism of our program and the exemplary behavior of our athletes.

This season has truly been remarkable—finishing 12-1 and making a state title appearance for the first time since 2013. I am especially grateful for this senior class and their leadership. When I arrived at Brazos Christian, we talked about the goal of playing for a state championship, and this group of seniors, along with our underclassmen, bought in and helped us achieve that goal. Now, the next step is to bring home the title. I am also deeply thankful for our coaching staff, whose dedication has not only made our players better athletes but also better young men.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our incredible community for the unwavering support throughout the season. Whether it’s the parents, cheerleaders, student body, administration or staff, our boys felt the love and encouragement every step of the way. A special shout-out to our Athletic Director, Brian Thrift, for his leadership and support. Coach Thrift does an outstanding job ensuring that our athletes have a great experience in all sports! I am thankful for Coach Thrift, and for all he does for our athletes!

As we move into the winter and spring sports seasons, I look forward to seeing everyone compete. Information regarding offseason workouts will be shared before we return from Christmas break, and we’ll kick off strength and conditioning in January.

The All-State meeting will take place on Wednesday, 12/11. I would like to gather with the team during the athletic period that day to distribute All-District and All-State medals, and to have one final meeting. Additionally, lockers should be cleaned out, and all equipment needs to be returned by Wednesday as well.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. God Bless!
